How to Make Boxed Cake Taste Professionally Made

Take your cake to a whole new level! This is the easiest way to add pizzaz to your boxed cake mix and make it taste so much better. I know, I know… homemade is always better, but I am all about making life as easy as possible and this is the best way to save on time when baking in a hurry. I won’t tell anyone it’s homemade if you won’t!

I thought there just may be one or two of you out there who might be as disorganized and short on time (most of the time) as me and could benefit from this tip.

  • Read the directions on the cake mix
  • Add one more egg (or add 2 if you want it to be very rich)
  • Use melted butter instead of oil and double the amount
  • Instead of water, use milk
  • Mix well and bake for the time recommended on the box

That’s it! You will LOVE the results. Your cake with be rich and moist just like you bought it from a professional bakery! What is your favorite flavor of cake?

Have a little bit of extra time? Be sure to check out this HERSHEY’S PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE- Chocolate Cake recipe. You will be glad that you did! This is by far one of my favorite chocolate recipes to use when making cake pops. The texture is light and airy with a yummy smooth chocolatey taste. This is a recipe from the Hershey website. I didn’t make this up unfortunately… But I still wanted to share it with you. I hope you try it and love it as much as I do.
If you are looking for a great toppings recipe I have you covered. Check out this homemade marshmallow fondant!

Thanks for these great tips. I had never thought of adding an extra egg before. And I love the idea of using milk and butter.

I tried this before but used water (next time I will use milk). It made a yummy cupcake! I must admit that I do love a good cupcake, but I have had a hard time finding a homemade recipe that works for me!
