Easy ‘Thankful’ Fall Decor
Tis’ the season for being thankful! Though we should be thankful for our blessings year round, something about the fall, especially November, makes us feel extra thankful. I decided this would be a great time to craft up this easy ‘Thankful’ Fall Decor. What a great reminder to all those who see!
I found this rectangular chalkboard at Target a while ago in their Dollar Spot, but you can use any picture frame to the chalkboard. It’s simple to turn any piece of wood or frame into a chalkboard with chalkboard paint. I buy mine from Walmart and get it for less than $3 a bottle. The best part of crafting is getting to make things unique to you!
Here’s what you will need to make your own ‘Thankful’ sign:
- Chalkboard or painted frame
- Fall flowers
- Paint for the letters
- Hot glue
I was lucky enough to find these beautiful sunflowers at Dollar Tree! All of the flowers pictured below actually came in one group – SCORE!
Pull your flowers apart, and cut off the stem part to make them flat on the back. Lay them over your chalkboard in the arrangement desired. Secure with hot glue.
Let the glue dry completely.
Once your flowers are secure, you can begin to paint on your message. I chose to paint ‘Thankful’ because that’s exactly what I am.
Once your paint dries, you can hang your thankful sign for all to see. I chose to hang mine on our front door. It really stands out against the black, and I really hope it brings a welcoming joy to all.
Remember, you can make any variation of this. I just wanted this post to be a good starting point. Get creative and make it your own.

We all know that mason jars are all the rage when it comes to home decor. There are a million and one ways to jazz up a cheap mason jar and these easy fall candle holders are exactly what you’ve been looking for to make your home a little more autumn. I didn’t make mine with a mason jar this time, but usually that’s what I would do. I wanted this fall candle holder to be just a tad bit bigger and so I chose to use this glass jar instead.
Hold it right there! Do not throw all of those leftover canning lids in the trash. How about making these super cute Canning Ring Pumpkins instead? This is such a fun and frugal craft idea that will make a huge statement in your Fall decor.
