Let’s give your little cupid’s something fun to do to celebrate Valentine’s Day. These sun catchers are cute and simple easy to make. Plus, we made them for less than a $1.00. That’s my kind of activity for sure. A while back we made sun catchers for fall and they turned out great.
Here’s what you will need:
Left over tissue paper from the holidays
Cardboard or any color – cut into shape of heart or desired shape
Wax paper or clear contact paper
Glue or tape
Cut hearts out of your tissue paper. I made a few different sizes for contrast.
Place tissue paper hearts onto a single piece of wax paper in desired pattern. Leave space to allow light to shine through.
Once all of your hearts have been arranged, place the same size wax paper over the arrangement and iron. This will melt the hearts in place and keep the wax paper stuck together.
Glue your cardboard frame over the pieces of wax paper, making sure the paper hearts are in the middle area.
Trim around the edges so that none of the extra wax paper is showing.
Hang in the window! Looks great! I took 2 pics so you could see what it looks like with a flash and without.
