“There are a handful of events in town a car lover can’t afford to miss, and Fuelicious and Carmel Artomobilia are two of them. Although if timeless car’s aren’t your thing, perhaps gourmet food, fine wines and helping the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund are.”
Fuelicious – A Celebration of Wheels + Wishes
There are car shows, there are philanthropy galas, and then there is Fuelicious and Carmel Artomobilia. Not only do these events stand above the rest because of the invaluable vehicles on display, affluent guests and mesmerizing venues, but because it takes place in the suburb of a city that thrives on speed —Indianapolis, Indiana.
Speaking of mesmerizing, that’s a great way to describe Fuelicious 2015. The utterly jaw-dropping 33-acres that houses the Lucas Estate, home to the Lucas Oil family is a property straight out of a fairy tale. Over 25,000-sq. ft. of entertaining space was transformed into a vibrant atmosphere filled with the most coveted vehicles from around the world, chef-prepared cuisine, synchronized swimmers and even its own Panerai timepiece studio.
Luckily, we happened to be reviewing a gorgeous and luxurious Infiniti QX80 Limited, which helped us fit in just a tad better at the event parking lot! Upon arrival at Fuelicious, we were provided with lottery-style balls, which we then wrote our ticket number on and threw them into the gorgeous infinity pool. Later on that evening, a local team of synchronized dancers performed a beautiful aquatic valet, which also helped “shuffle” the balls for fair play.
The evening roared into the night with charity functions, award ceremonies, and of course, great jazz, oldies and some funky rock’n roll music.
Unfortunately, the dream-like setting had to come to an end, and it was time to head home, recharge, and be ready of the next day, as even with Fuelicious coming to and end, this dazzling weekend was far from over…
Carmel Artomobilia
Last year Carmel Artomobilia drew crowds nearing 15,000 people! Which make Artomobilia the largest single event in Carmel, Indiana. Now, If you’ve ever visited Carmel, then you know that it’s a fairly small place, so imagine the incredible atmosphere when thousands of families head to the streets to enjoy local food, music, and of course —priceless art and automobiles.
Carmel Artomobilia features over 400 vehicles of all makes, models and time-periods. Walk through Main Street, Carmel and witness the most gorgeous 1966 Shelby Cobra, only to see a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT just a few feet away. But don’t stop walking, as you may miss the vintage Ford GT40, and a less exotic but still gorgeous Ferrari 458 and Lamborghini Huracan.
I’m not a native to the City of Indianapolis, or the State of Indiana, but I constantly share how grateful I am to live in a city were just about everyone loves cars, loves racing, and most of all, loves improving the community in which they live in. Both Fuelicious and Artomobilia are an excellent example of just how much a handful of people with a shared passion can impact an entire city, and even state.
To John Leonard and the rest of the staff that makes these events possible —Thank You.
