Daith Piercing for Migraines: 3 Month Update & Grossness

Nov 25 by 2 Comments

Is the headache piercing everything it’s cracked up to be? Here’s my three-month update:

Out of complete frustration and exhaustion coming up on day 3 of a full-blown migraine, I decided enough was enough. I found a local tattoo parlor that specializes in the Daith Piercing and decided it was now or never.

Well, it’s been two months and I wanted to give you my completely honest update.

So, it seems as if I hit a small snag with my Daith Piercing. I must have slept on it wrong causing it to swell and become extremely sore. It also has a yellow bubble around the actual hole of the piercing. They did tell me it could take up to four months to heal so I am hoping this is just part of the process.

Besides this new grossness, nothing else has really changed too much. The headaches have gotten so much better and I’m getting maybe 2-3 migraines a month compared to several a week. My most recent migraines have been direct results of my own actions and lack of self-care.

If you have any questions be sure to post them below and I will get them answered as soon as I can!

Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Family Road Trip In the 2021 Chevy Tahoe

A large and rugged country requires a large and rugged vehicle. Thank you for your updates. I wait (im)patiently for these 🙂 As a fellow migraine sufferer with daily migraines and taking over 20 different prescription meds a day, not including liquid morphine, and my occasional 2-3 monthly trip to A&E (UKs ER) where I actually have a treatment plan in place (includes IV morphine), I have been looking for other ways to help reduce my migraines, and hopefully reduce my medications.

I started following your blog about Daith piercing, and I am grateful for the updates and I am happy for you that it seems to have helped. In fact, I have arranged my own Daith piecing because of your blog, so fingers crossed and thank you 🙂
