I love Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, but they are so pricey and filled with some pretty harsh chemicals. I love keeping a clean house. Messy and clean are two very different things. My house is very lived in, but I don’t mess with dirt and germs.
I have researched a lot of DIY disinfecting wipes and they all seem to call for just tea tree oil and vinegar. Both great cleaners, just not a disinfectant. I always put alcohol in my wipes. It actually does disinfect and it cleans great also. As an added bonus it makes my faucets so shiny… So this is how to make homemade disinfecting wipes:
Homemade Disinfecting Wipes
1 cup of water
1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol
2 Tbsp. Dawn dish soap (only use Dawn)
2 Tbsp. ammonia (optional)
1 Roll of your favorite paper towels
I remove the center cardboard from the paper towel roll and place it in an old baby wipes container or even an old Clorox Wipes container. Whatever I have handy.
Mix all of the ingredients together and poor over the paper towels. That’s it. Now you can use them just like you would use Clorox wipes. Except you will be saving some cash.
This Homemade Disinfecting Wipes recipe is by far the best one I have tried so far. Let me know what you think.
