I participated in Mom Blog Tour Sweets & Snacks Expo (#MomBlogTourFF) on behalf of Wendy’s Bloggers. I received Celebration by Frey products to facilitate my post, but my opinion and creative content are my own.
These easy galaxy cupcakes are the ultimate party hack to take your desserts from simple to mind-blowing in just a few steps.
I don’t know about you, but I love a pretty cupcake. Themed cupcakes are life! Your party will be the hit of the universe with these easy galaxy cupcakes. I know my little baker was over the moon when she got the chance to help me whip these up in the kitchen.
More times than not, I find myself running short on time. When in a pinch, these easy galaxy cupcakes are exactly what you need. Yes, I cheat just a little bit by using a box cake mix, but only when I am short on time. I found a fabulous blue that I knew would be perfect for what I was trying to accomplish. Take a look at that color!
Oh, and Celebration by Frey® makes baking and decorating so much fun. They offer giant gumballs, Pearls and Sixlets® in a large variety of colors that will allow you to coordinate with the theme of any event. I’ll explain more below.
Here’s how you can make these easy galaxy cupcakes:
What you will need:
- Baked & cooled cupcakes
- Frosting – ready-made or homemade
- Food coloring or gel
- Piping bag with tips
- Celebration by Frey® MixLicious™ All Star Party Jar Mix
Starting with cooled cupcakes, use the tip from your piping bag and stick the larger end into the middle of the cupcake. It’s much easier done than explained. I promise.
Once each of them is hollow, prepare your Celebration by Frey® toppings. I really love these colors! Nothing screams galaxy like those metallic wrapped chocolate balls, bright stars and the shimmer of the silver stars.
I just love this color scheme. Can you tell? And those giant white gumballs! They look like the moon.
Fill the hollowed out middles of your galaxy cupcakes with the Celebration by Frey® MixLicious™ All Star Party Jar Mix. This creates a fun pinata like effect. Or, a galaxy explosion!
Once every cupcake is filled, you can begin creating the colors for your frosting. I would have loved for my colors to be a bit darker, but having all girls in the house, they insisted the frosting be lighter. So, that being said, this same concept would apply to some fun and delicious unicorn cupcakes.
Once your desired colors are mixed, spoon them into your piping bag without worrying where they will lie. This will make for some nice color combinations and swirls, just like in the galaxy.
For full disclosure, I did this photoshoot when it was well over 95 degrees outside (not my brightest idea), so my frosting was melting as soon as I could get it out of the tube. Don’t do what I did. Once your cupcakes are frosted you can begin to embellish your easy galaxy cupcakes with the cute toppings from Celebration by Frey®.
