Ways to Naturally Boost Your Energy
Feeling rested is an important factor in being able to accomplish everything you need to. In today’s world people just aren’t taking care of themselves like they should be. I am just as guilty as the next. I’m pretty sure I don’t even know what a full night’s sleep feels like.
When you are overtired, it can make the minutes drag out and make you feel incapable of getting anything done. What should you do when you are exhausted, and want to get rid of the feeling? Here are a few ways to easily boost your energy level naturally!
1. Water
The first thing to do when you feel tired and need an energy boost is fill a glass of water and drink it. Being dehydrated causes your volume of blood to drop, whereby your body must work harder than usual to supply your cells with oxygen. Dehydration can also cause many other problems that will in turn bring feelings of sluggishness and lack of energy.
2. Exercise
When you are tired, you most likely do not want to get up and expend any more energy. It may seem counter-intuitive to purposely use more energy when all you want to do is save what you have. Exercise, however, is one of the best ways to give you that boost.
Exercise increases blood flow throughout the body and brings oxygen to every part of it. Exercise also releases endorphins, which make us feel good. Feeling overtired is not pleasant, and this “feel-good” chemical can give us the emotional boost we need in order to accomplish the task at hand.
3. Eat
In an era where losing weight is the goal for so many people, we often forget that eating is not the enemy. If you are feeling fatigued, your body may be undernourished and in need of nutrients and calories. Choose a healthy snack such as fruits and vegetables. These have carbohydrates which are a primary source of energy for our bodies. A carbohydrate with some protein is a good match as it will give you instant as well as long-term energy.
4. Sun
Sunshine is nature’s way of spoiling us. The sun is a mood enhancer and is necessary when trying to ward off seasonal affective disorder, which is related to darker days and a lack of sunlight. Sitting in the sun for ten minutes is one of the best ways a person can recharge and bring back their energy.
When you are feeling fatigued, your body may be crying out for rest. When you are not getting a proper nightís sleep, every part of you will be affected in a negative way. An average adult should aim for 7-9 hours of sleep per night for maximum health benefits and energy levels.
When you cut your sleep short, your body is unable to recover and prepare for the next day and you will end up feeling overtired and sluggish. If it is the middle of the day, try taking a quick nap and see if it gives you the ìpick-me-upî that you need.
When you are well rested, everything feels easier. It is easier to work, easier to get along well with others, and easier to be productive.
There are many ways you can get that natural boost and find the energy you crave. If you are feeling exhausted, try a few of the above ideas and you will likely be successful in your search for the energy that will help you get through the day with vigor and a much-needed boost.
as someone suffering from an auto immune disease that takes away my energy this is VERY helpful. I want to post this on my site.. very informative.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for sharing!! Hope it helps 🙂
I also think drinking herbal teas help boost energy, I have been trying different kinds and actually have been not drinking so much coffee, running in the after noon helps too.
Great tips!! I drink a TON of green tea as well. The running part.. well let’s just say I need to work on that
Great post!!! I needed this! I have a very hard time being productive and energized during the day despite all of the coffee I drink, haha. I’ve found water has been a HUGE help!
I’ve been in a slump because of the dreary weather so these are super helpful tips!
Me too!! I am ready for some sunshine!!!!
These are great tips! I am definitely ready for that sunshine!
You hit all the tips right on the head! In addition to the water, I also add a few spoons of freshly-squeezed lemon juice.
I love all of these suggestions, I just wish the sun factor could happen more frequently for me! Working in an office all day definitely leads to little sun exposure!

This is some really excellent advice. If I have low energy, it’s typically because I unintentionally didn’t eat enough or because because I wasn’t drinking enough water.
I’m gonna do exercises in the sun so I could achieve both at the same time!
Ohh… that’s genius! Now to get some sunshine…. LOL
Such great tips. I find myself looking for energy often and I always tell myself If I would improve on certain stuff- I am sure my energy levels would sky rocket. I think I am going to buy some green tea and continue with lots of lemon water. Also I think hot yoga helps things tremendously! 🙂 xo
These are wonderful natural ways to boost energy. I always find a good stroll in the sunshine uplifts my mood… so maybe it’s my energy it helps. I think a good one to add as well is laughter. You just can’t be laughing and slumping lol
This is exactly what I needed to read! I was just lamenting my lack of energy. And instead of resorting to drastic measures or chemicals, these are natural remedies I can try right away. Tomorrow I’m going to make sure to get my 10 minutes of sunshine!

Thanks – these are great reminders of what I can do for more energy.
You are definitely right! Should take in consideration eat and sun!
Great tips and really useful! Sun is really my booster 🙂
I knew most of these but I didn’t know about the sun- maybe not here in Arizona that doesn’t work? 110 degress just seems to make me tired! lol
People often forget how important it is to stay hydrated. By the time they feel the thirst the body is already tired. A nap can recharge you, but I think it is important to keep it short so that it doesn’t affect your night sleep. Thanks for the tips.
Yes, I couldn’t agree more! Something I am STILL working on!
Great post!!! I’m ready for the SUN!!
Me too!!
The sun definitely helps me when I need a boost of energy. Food too, but I’ve noticed the most improvement when I expose myself to sunlight. Thanks for the tips!
