Ford Raptor & Ford Mustang LEGO Speed Champions!
It’s not often that I get to play with toys for work, but this past weekend that’s exactly what happened!
As many car and motorcycle manufacturers have done in the past, Ford licensed a couple of their real world models to LEGO, and allowed them to put their creative minds to work and come up with something really cool. After all, fanatic-targeted toys are the rage (and cash cows).
Well, the end result was something really cool, indeed! LEGO released two different sets which are currently on sale right now. A 185-piece LEGO Speed Champions Ford Mustang set, and a 664-piece LEGO Speed Champions Ford F-150 Raptor & Ford Model A Hot Rod set. I was lucky enough to find both sets at my local Toys “R” Us, and the Mustang kit was even discounted.
The Mustang took the least amount of time, which was a little under an hour, though it was a pretty focused and speedy built since I was doing so for video purposes. Real time may be about an hour to 1:15 or so. The Raptor took quite a bit longer, as it’s more complicated and has a lot more pieces to it and a lot more stickers to put on. The truck took about an hour and a half and the trailer about 15 minutes. Enjoy the videos!
I primarily built both sets, although my 4-year old Josephine was by my side and partially helped through out the process. Keep in mind that these are traditional LEGOs, and not the more advanced (and expensive) TECHNIC sets, so they’re easily assembled by kids (and adults) of all ages.
We shot some video and took some really cool photos just for ya, enjoy!
