Bring out mummy cupcakes during the annual monster mash – it’ll be a wrap. What’s on the inside is what counts right? Fourteen coarsely chopped OREO Cookies are stirred into 1 package of chocolate cake batter to give these bodies some personality. To create a solid casing that leaves a lasting impression, beat 1 package (3.4 oz.) vanilla-flavored instant pudding mix, 1 cup of milk and ¼ cup powdered sugar together and fold in 2 cups thawed COOL WHIP. Then, fill a pastry bag that’s equipped with a basket-weave tip. Lace on the “wrap” and add chocolate chip eyes. Once you take a bite out of these, it’ll prove to be the only mummy that doesn’t preserve for long.
Spider Cupcakes

If there’s one type of eight-legged crawler you want around this Halloween, it’s spider cupcakes. Blend 1 package (3.9 oz.) of dry chocolate pudding mix into a standard chocolate cake batter to kick it up a notch, and then spoon into 24 lined muffin tins and bake according to cupcake packaging. Once the mini cakes are cooled, spread on a white frosting that’s specially flavored and colored with 1/3 cup of Orange Kool-Aid. Place an OREO cookie atop each cupcake and use leftover frosting to stick on M&M’s for eyes. Finally, give the creepy creatures some legs by laying black licorice string halves along both sides of the cookie so they can make moves straight into your stomach.
Dirt & Worm Cakes

You don’t have to choose between trick or treat with dirt and worm cakes. After baking 24 white cupcakes, aerate the lawn (aka white cupcake) by piercing fork holes in ¼-inch intervals across every cake. Next, fill in the freshly poked pockets with 1 package (3 oz.) of orange JELL-O and refrigerate until the gelatin is firm. Dust on garden dirt utilizing 2 crushed OREOS and garnish with gummy worms. It’s a tricky treat but will definitely be welcomed with open palms.
Halloween cupcakes are easy, affordable and perfect for creativity. Get in the spirit of this haunted holiday and let the imagination run wild with these recipes. Not only are they a blast to bake and decorate, the crowd will be pleased as their favorite dessert comes alive right before their eyes.
