It’s that time of year —back to school. Pool parties, slumber parties, vacation parties, trips to theme parks, resorts or maybe even foreign countries, they’ve all come to an end. It’s time to hit the stores, buy clothes, buy school supplies and go to bed on time. But you know what else it’s time for? A back-to-school haircut!
I remember attending middle school and high school and anxiously waiting for that last bell to ring on the last day of school signaling the beginning of a long and fun summer ahead. But now that I’m a Mom, I dread picking up my daughter on her last day of school, knowing that the gates of summer have opened. The beginning of many “Mom, I’m bored, are we there yet, do we have to go, there is nothing in the fridge” to come.
Combine two girls out of school, and the fact that my husband and I work full time from home, and you start to get where I’m coming from.
Juggling our lifestyle, our work requirements and our wants and desires is no easy task, and as most families, we are ruled by the good ‘ole “time vs. money” balance. As it seems that whenever there is time, finances are tight (specially during back to school season) and when finances are strong —time is limited. Sigh…
That leads me to share with you a little secret to maximize your time and money! We all use our smartphones to make our lives easier right? That’s why every time I visit Great Clips for my kids’s haircuts (or my own) I make sure to use their awesome “Online Check-in” app. Yes, you heard right, an app that will save you time by getting you in line before you even arrive to your neighborhood’s Great Clips!
What you will you do with that extra free time, share with us!
Once you are checked-in online, your name gets put on the waiting list and all you gotta do is show up, and then the next best part comes in —the savings!
Great Clips offers affordable, great looking styles and friendly service, which reminds me of a little personal story. My husband has gotten his haircut at Great Clips since High School, and later in his life he lived in New York City for some time, and back then there were no Great Clips in NYC! He would hop in a bus or subway to Jersey for over an hour just to get his Great Clips haircut. While most people thought he was crazy, it was the sense of a good standard of quality nationwide that kept him going back to Great Clips regarding of the location. True story!
So as you come back from summer vacation, and your little ones are getting ready to go back to school, remember to maximize your time and money and download the “Online check-in” app, and asks yourself, what will you do with that extra time?
Here are some photos of us bringing our little Josephine for her first pre Pre-School haircut, she is growing so fast!
