It’s Easy to Get Flustered When Planning for an Epic Spring Break. After All, There Are Hundreds of Destinations to Choose From. Here’s Why We Chose the Hilton in Fort Wayne, Indiana!
If you haven’t heard of Fort Wayne, we’re about to change that. It’s a city located two hours north of Indianapolis, and I promise you it’s family-friendly, exciting and a hotter spring break destination than you could’ve possibly imagined. We recently had a chance to visit its many attractions, and found the Hilton Fort Wayne to be the perfect place to rest up after a day’s adventures!
The Hilton of Fort Wayne is located in the heart of downtown. The hotel is surrounded by many restaurants and popular attractions, which come in hand when traveling with kids. Mornings are typically a little hectic in our family, so we were thankful for a delicious hot breakfast that’s available in the lounge area. For lunch or dinner, the restaurant in the lobby is the perfect place to grab a bite, or stay in and take advantage of room service. As we usually do, we decided to venture out into town, and even found a delicious pizza joint nearby!
The Accommodations
Our family suite was made up of two connecting rooms. The double room featured two queen beds, a spacious closet, vanity and full bathroom with bathtub. The main suite featured a king bed, a sofa (with pull-out bed), a large work desk and office chair, a fridge, and a microwave oven. This room also featured a similar bathroom setup, although a larger closet.
This setup was perfect for our family! It meant the kiddos didn’t have to fight over which show to watch on TV, plus having two full bathrooms really sped things up in the mornings when everyone was trying to get ready. Traveling can often be chaotic and messy, which is why staying at the Hilton in Fort Wayne was so accommodating.
Our oldest daughter and I decided to commandeer the queen beds, while Jerry and our 5-year-old decided to make a killer fort for a rockin’ slumber party! I almost regret missing out on the fun, but instead I chose a good night’s rest.
The Amenities
The Hilton in Fort Wayne offers some pretty great amenities you can take advantage of during spring break, or any other time of the year. One of those features is the large indoor pool, which makes me think our kids might have been fish in their past lives, considering how difficult it is to get them to get out of it.
Oh, and let’s not forget the fitness center. You know, just in case your idea of relaxation is to put a few miles on the treadmill. Additional amenities include complimentary wifi (score!), but you’ll have to pay $8 bucks a day for parking, and breakfast isn’t included in most rates. Speaking of rates, an average night will set you back around $199 for a double room.
Fort Wayne has many hotels to choose from, but if you’re looking for awesome rooms, central location, and the right amenities, you can’t beat the Hilton. Also, make sure to check out the latest events happening in Fort Wayne during spring break. You won’t regret it!
