From Sleek Sedans, Brutish Pickups, and Hip SUVs, There Was Something for Every Family at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show!
We often tell people that all cars are family cars. After all, we’ve been proving this concept right for over two years now. Whether it’s a daddy and daughter date onboard an Italian sports car, or going on an off-road adventure with the entire family, life happens in cars of all shapes, sizes, and price tags.
This year’s Chicago Auto Show proved that once again SUVs and crossovers are at the forefront of every manufacturer’s lineup. Whether it’s the sleek and sexy Nissan Murano Midnight Edition, or the re-resigned Mazda CX-5, hauling the entire family no longer means driving dreadful bread boxes.
Check out these hip family rides from the 2017 Chicago Auto Show!
Ford Expedition
The iconic full-size SUV from the Blue Oval made an appearance at the Windy City this year, but this time looking completely new! All-new for 2018, the Ford Expedition sports family-friendly technology that’s bound to make it a favorite in the segment. Half-a-dozen USB charging outlets, wifi hotspot, and a new advanced cargo management system that organizes stuff, and keeps it from rolling out the back when parked on a hill and the tailgate is opened are among the clever new features.
Nissan Maxima Midnight Edition
Having spent quality time behind the wheel of the new-generation Nissan Maxima, we’re huge fans of it. In a time when crossovers and SUVs have taken over, it’s refreshing to see a company pump so much passion and spirit into a sedan. The Midnight Edition features black 19″ wheels, a black rear sport spoiler, and a black rear diffuser. Furthermore, it can be had in white, black, red, and gun metal gray.
Dodge Durango SRT
Once upon a time, driving a family vehicle meant sacrificing style, fun, and adrenaline. Well, that’s no longer the case! The 475-horsepower V8 engine under the hood can easily spin all-four tires and create a burnout big enough for your entire neighborhood to see. After that, you’ll be the coolest mom and dad on your street, though you may need a new set of rubbers. We certainly look forward to this one!
Toyota Sequoia TRD Sport
If what you’re after is might, towing capacity, and space, the new Toyota Sequoia TRD Sport is what you need. This new trim features blacked out accents, wheels, and body moldings, which make it look meaner, and therefore have a cooler presence. Handling is also improved thanks to TRD sport anti-roll bars and Bilstein shocks. Perfect for towing the boat out to the lake on the weekends.
Ram Power Wagon Macho
It might be difficult for little ones to climb in, but once they’re inside they’ll be grinning from ear-to-ear! The new Ram Power Wagon is already on sale, but this Macho model is merely a concept. Still, with deep enough pockets and the right Mopar accessories you might be able to recreate this look on your own. We totally love it.
