There’s just something extra special about homemade applesauce. This simple recipe is tart and not too sweet. It makes the perfect side dish, dessert or eat it just because. Whatever way you choose to eat it, I just know you are going to love it!
– 6 apples – cored and chopped (peel if you prefer)
– 1 cup water
– 1/2 cup white sugar
– 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
In a saucepan, combine apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon. Cover, and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until apples are soft. Allow to cool and then mash with a fork or potato masher. Super easy! And oh so yummy! We used fresh picked apples from the farm. One of my favorite fall time activities. Also, it’s much cheaper to pick your own. This recipe is great for canning as well!
