Hot Cocoa Polar Bears

Some of my favorite holiday memories of my childhood involve sitting by the fire with a large cup of hot cocoa while watching the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree. I remember doing that night after night, and it never got old. Now that I am a parent, I hope to give those same cherished memories to my girls, which is no easy task.

To try and shake up the traditional cup of cocoa, I wanted to try something a little different this year. I wanted my girls to not only remember their amazing cups of cocoa by the beautifully lit tree, but I wanted to make something fun to go inside their creamy cup of goodness.

Here we give you Hot Cocoa Polar Bears!

This is what you will need:

  • Large Marshmallows
  • Little Marshmallows
  • Brown M&M’s
  • Melting chocolate (Preferably white. I used orange because I had some leftover from Thanksgiving)
  • Candy Eyes

Melt your melting chocolate in the microwave in 30 second intervals until fully liquified.

Take a toothpick or something similar to use the melting chocolate like a “glue” to stick two little marshmallows onto a big marshmallow, to look like ears.

Next, take another tiny marshmallow and squish it just a bit, to flatten it out and make a snout. Attach with your melted chocolate.

Once those are secure, use the melting chocolate to attach your brown M&M’s to look like it’s nose.

Once your noses are secure, attach the eyes just as you did the other pieces of your polar bear.

You could easily whip up a batch of these cute Hot Cocoa Polar Bears and wrap them up with your favorite jar of Stephen’s Gourmet Hot Cocoa and you have yourself the perfect gift idea for a coworker, teachers, or neighbors or to serve at your holiday party. I promise, these cute little bears will be a huge hit!
