Chances are, we have all either been to a fundraiser or have been apart of a fundraiser. Some of us love them and others not so much. But, Funds2Orgs is a different type of fundraising organization! They are one of just a few professional fundraising companies that get your entire team and donors involved in a roll-your-sleeves-up, engaging experience that will leave powerful, lasting impressions on the minds of everyone involved. Simply by collecting, distributing, and repurposing discarded shoes, they are able to turn your fundraising drives into revenue for you. Score!
Through their shoe drive fundraisers Funds2Orgs gives you the opportunity to make a larger footprint through your cause. Your organization can save lives by providing employment to countries in need, repurposing metric tons of unrecyclable materials from landfills, creating good will, and igniting the fire to make a difference; all while raising revenue for your organization through a proven fundraising company. Sounds just about perfect, right?
The Funds2Orgs business model offers three compelling advantages over other fundraising companies:
-Provides domestic nonprofits the ability to raise funds by carrying out engaging fundraising drives.
-Creates and sustains micro-enterprise opportunities for low-income entrepreneurs in developing nations.
-Dramatically reduces the impact of post-consumer waste in our nation’s landfills.
Like most people, I know I have a few closets that can be cleaned out. In the US alone, approximately 600 million pairs of shoes are thrown away each year. The materials used to manufacture shoes are created from chemical compounds, the kind that will create health hazards if left to disintegrate openly or in landfills. Why not do something productive with them instead?
Gently worn shoes are used in developing nations for impoverished people to start, maintain, and grow a Micro-enterprise. Because of this opportunity, individuals are able to feed, clothe, and house their families. Collected shoes are consolidated and shipped to on-the-ground business operators where they clean, repair, or melt down outsoles if necessary, to make a new pair of shoes.
To help you get started with YOUR Shoe Drive, Funds2Orgs has provided tons of downlaodable material. All the marketing materials can be customized for your organization. Simply download the item you wish to use, and fill out the appropriate areas with your organization’s information. Easy!
Are you ready to get started? I know I am. Each and every one of us can make a difference. Will you take the first step with me?
This is the time to get your employer, Church and schools involved!
FREE Micro-Enterprise Curriculum
Their new Micro-Enterprise Curriculum allows schools across the country to teach the importance of good business and the role of micro-enterprises in worldwide communities. They hope students are inspired to host a shoe drive fundraiser for their school to raise money and make a global impact. I will be passing this information on to my daughter’s teacher. They are never too young to start.
The Micro-Enterprise Curriculum has four levels: Elementary, Middle, High, and Homeschool. Each level is broken into 5 Modules: General Business, General Marketing, Micro-Enterprise Fundamentals, Creating a Micro-Enterprise Business Plan, and Finance. Accompanying worksheets and a complete teacher’s guide for each module will help students understand the importance of local businesses/ Micro-enterprises and their impact on worldwide communities.
