Noddy Toyland Detective – Let’s Investigate!

Jul 1 by Leave a Comment

I have been compensated for my time writing this review. As usual, all opinions are my own.

Kuato has teamed up with Dreamworks Animation to recreate Noddy Toyland Detective based on the popular TV series. Children become a Toyland Detective and use the ‘Who, What, Where Book’ to solve mysteries.

With school being over for the summer, I am always looking for fun ways to continue the learning to prevent any sort of “summer slide.” Many kids, including my own, forget some of what they’ve learned or slightly slip out of practice during this time. When I received the opportunity to check out Noddy Toyland Detective I was excited to see the learning potential.

Noddy Toyland Detective is target towards kids five and under who love solving mysteries and playing mini games.  Once your little detective solves the case, a fun storybook about their adventure is generated for them to read. Once I downloaded the app on my iPhone for Josephine, I instantly noticed the excellent animations, music and fun!

Unlike other learning apps I’ve downloaded, Noddy Toyland Detective contains no advertising and has no in-app purchases. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen Josephine get redirected out of the learning game she was playing to something else completely unrelated due to an ad.

One of my favorite features of  this app is the passcode-protected ‘Grown Ups Corner,’ where you can:
• Choose the length of time your child plays the game
• Receive email notifications when your child has created a new case for you to read together
• Get help and advice about playing the game with your child

Oh, and did I mention you have the ability to set play time limits? SCORE! This app is a great way to battle the summer slider we were discussing earlier. I’m excited to see Josephine developing skills through playing this game including, language, sentence structure and creativity – all through play.

IN NODDY TOYLAND DETECTIVE, YOUR CHILD WILL:

• Play as Noddy and explore the beautifully recreated world of Toyland in 3D.
• Meet characters from the TV show including Bumpy Dog, Revs, Pat-Pat and the Panda Pockets, Fuse, the Naughticorns, and more!
• Ask questions to uncover clues and solve mysteries with the ‘Who-What-Where book’.
• Create musical masterpieces with the Pirate Band using simple tap and touch controls.
• Follow Deltoid’s workout patterns to learn the ancient art of Deltoid-O.
• Paint and decorate Revs the car with colorful shapes and designs.
• Help the Brickabuild builders solve jigsaw puzzles.
• Build investigation skills by discovering challenges, remembering, collecting, listening, thinking, and making connections!
