Most people cringe at the thought of making brownies or cheesecake at home, but let me tell you, I got this Cheesecake Brownie recipe spot on the very first time. Plus, you know I am no chef – so if I can make it, it really IS that simple, and you can make it too! Let’s get started:
Here are the INGREDIENTS that you will need:
- 1 box Brownie Mix + box ingredients
- 4 oz softened Cream Cheese
- 1 Egg
- 3 tbsp Sugar
DIRECTIONS:
Start by greasing an 8×8″ square pan with soft butter using your finger tips.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees while you get the batter ready.
Make brownie batter according to box directions, making sure there are no lumps left. (No matter how tempting it is, do not lick the spoon. Not saying I was able to resist…)
Pour the batter into pan that you have layered with butter.
Now moving on to the cheesecake.
Whip the cream cheese until smooth in consistency.
Beat in egg and sugar and mix well until all the ingredients are blended.
Using a spoon to drop dollops of the cheesecake mixture on top of brownie batter sitting in the pan.
The cheesecake dollops need not by symmetrical or perfect circles, just place a dollop and we will tell you why it need not be perfect in the next step.
To make it look pretty, drag a butter knife or spatula back and forth across length and width of pan to make swirls of the cheesecake mix in the brownie batter. Just like painting a picture!
Put the tray into the pre-heated oven and bake.
Remove after 40 minutes and tent top it with an aluminum foil to continue cooking them while keep the cheesecake brownies moist and soft.
Put it back in the oven and bake for additional 10-15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out nearly clean.
Once it cools, remove onto a flat surface and cut into square pieces of desired size.
You could even chop these Cheesecake Brownies into little cubes and serve them on a toothpick with a little chocolate dip on the side!
