Road Trippin’ With Tradewinds Tea!
Have you ever embarked on a road trip longer than a couple of hours? If you have, then you know that things can get real after hour three on the road—especially if you’re traveling with kids. That’s why packing the right drinks and snacks is extra important, if you want to avoid headaches, that is.
We recently headed to the great State of New York by car, and although the GPS showed about eight hours drive time, I knew that factoring stops for gas, food and the never-ending potty breaks, it would be more like 10 hours. (Turns out I was too optimistic, because it actually took nearly 11!)
One of the things we knew we had to pack was the read-to-drink Tradewinds Tea. We often have it at home with dinner, or as a nice refresher for BBQ cookouts and what not, so taking it on the road with us was a must. All we did was buy a conveniently sized gallon jug, and throw it in our cooler filled with ice, that way it’d stay nice and cold during our long drive.
Besides Tradewinds Tea, we packed a few pears, gummy fruit snacks, some PB&J and also ham and cheese sandwiches. In my head, this would keep us from stopping so often—which clearly it didn’t. But anyhow, once our unsweetened Tradewinds Tea was cold, we filled up the kids’ bottles and set off on our road trip to New York!
Bringing a gallon jug was perfect, because all we had to do was refill their bottles during our stops, and that kept us from buying multiple expensive drinks at gas stations, and more importantly, it kept us from generating more trash. Those individual drink containers can add up! Our Tradewinds Tea gallon jug kept us refreshed, free of clutter, and even saved us some bucks.
Sadly, we couldn’t find a store that carried it in New York, and we didn’t have a whole lot of time to look around different stores before driving into Canada, so we totally had to do without on our way back. You can click here to buy or find a retailer near you.
Are you going on a road trip soon? I highly suggest you bring a cooler with you. Not only will it save you money by bringing your own drinks and snacks, but you can also bring along a gallon sized jug of your favorite Tradewinds Tea!
