Cheddars Scratch Kitchen: Treating the Team

Playing soccer freshman year is a lot of work. Treat your team to Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen – A well-deserved meal.

Is there a better way to celebrate the growth of the team and the completion of a wonderful soccer season than to throw a team party? Having an end-of-season party is the perfect way for teammates to sorta let loose and really enjoy each other’s company. Plus, it might be the first time since the season started that they all aren’t shouting at one another. Or maybe that’s just a thing my daughter’s soccer team does. Either way, treating the team to a celebration is always a win.

Our oldest daughter has played soccer since she was four-years-old. Now that she just started her freshman year, things have been a little surreal for me. Watching her play for the last 10 years has been a much different experience than watching her play high school soccer. Maybe it’s the fact that I will only be sitting in those bleachers for four more years or the fact that she is already playing a high school sport. Whatever the reason might be, one thing’s for sure, I couldn’t be more proud of the player she has grown to be.

Now that it’s deep into fall and the grass has started to brown, the freshman soccer season has come to an end. And to celebrate, we took the entire team out to celebrate at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen.

It was such a pleasure to watch this team play, each of them having their own individual talents and skills. They never really speak of them though and when we tell them how awesome they are it just sorta rolls off their backs. Sitting around a table at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen things were a bit different. And in the best way possible.

First, let me set the scene. There were twelve players, three parents and their soccer coach. The players all sat around a large table while the parents and coach sat a booth across the aisle. There was laughter, high fiving, speeches being made by the most unexpected players, tears shed and amazing food being shared.

To keep things simple, we ordered a bunch of appetizers for the middle of the table. Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen has so many amazing choices, it was hard to decide what exactly to order. When I asked the team what they wanted they all agreed on chicken tenders, onion rings and potato skins. Cheddar’s has an appetizer called the Triple Treat Sampler which covered all of their requests.

Don’t believe me? Listen for yourself:

Once this incredibly hungry soccer team devoured an entire table full of food made from scratch, the speeches began. We had the pleasure of hearing all about how much they think they have grown and how much they feel they have accomplished. It was such an awe moment for me, and I can only assume for the players as well.

And what would an amazing celebration be without dessert? The kind folks at Cheddar’s knew we were celebrating a season well done and surprised our soccer team with the dreamiest chocolate cake – and the portions were HUGE! They set four slices of cake on the table and somehow there was still some left.

Top five reasons to treat your team to a night out at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen:

  1. Their food is amazing. Take a peek at their menu!

At Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, we’ve been graciously serving made-from-scratch goodness since 1979. Our founders, Aubrey Good and Doug Rogers, believed that when a meal is prepared and cooked fresh just for you, it not only tastes better, it makes you feel good.

2. The staff is so kind. We came in with a large group of people and they were not only more than happy to accommodate us, they went above and beyond in several ways.

3.  They make their food from scratch.

We use quality ingredients and take the time to prepare them in our kitchen. It’s the right way, not the easy way, because it tastes better that way. And really, isn’t that the point?

4. There’s something for everyone on the menu. With a wide variety of appetizers, homemade soups, scratch burgers and more – I can pretty much guarantee you’re going to find many choices to love.

5. Because they deserve it! No matter what sports your kids are into, treat them for a season well played. Head to Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen and treat them to a meal with their team they will never forget.

My kids all like to ride bikes. My son also like sports in general, with us tossing the baseball and football around. I am not sure if he enjoys it, or if he just fakes it because he knows I enjoy it.
