No Fry Fried Ice Cream Recipe
This No Fry Fried Ice Cream Recipe is one of my favorite recipes ever. It takes very little effort to make and tastes pretty incredible. Who knew you could make Fried Ice Cream without actually frying it? Well, you can and I am here to show you how. My kids as for this quite often and it’s a go-to recipe for me for family gatherings. You can make this delicious treat to impress your friends and family on taco night, Cinco de Mayo or just because.
I used Corn Flakes for this No Fry Fried Ice Cream Recipe but you can shake things up by using just about any kind of crunchy cereal depending on your preferences.
INGREDIENTS - 5 cups Corn Flakes - 1/2 cup Butter - 2 tsp Cinnamon - 4 tsp Sugar - Vanilla Ice Cream
Using an ice cream scoop, form ice cream into approx 2 1/2″ balls and place on a cookie sheet in the freezer for about 15 minutes or until firm.
Pulse the corn flakes in a food processor to crush. Or you can smash them by hand in a baggie.
Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat.
Stir in crushed corn flakes and cinnamon to cook, stirring constantly, about 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Warning, this will smell absolutely amazing! Remove from heat and stir sugar into the mixture. Pour into a shallow dish and allow it to cool completely.
Place frozen ice cream ball into mixture and roll to evenly coat. I usually press the corn flake mixture around the outer surface as I enjoy a thicker coating. It gives it an extra crunch!
You can serve this heavenly dessert topped with chocolate syrum, whipped topping and/or cherries if you like. My kids go CRAZY for this stuff!
